Create a 40x30 yard grid. Place a small goal on each end line. Place four cones in each corner about 5 yards from the sideline. Split into two groups — defenders on one sideline, attackers on the other with a supply of balls. The first attacker passes to the first defender. Both players move towards the centre, about 5 yards apart, passing back and forth. On the attacker's cue, they take off to attack either of the two small goals. The defender reacts to the attacker's movements. The attacker can fake and feint at any time. After play ends, both players run around the nearest corner cone and sprint to the opposite corner cone before the next pair goes.
- •Attacker: use feints, change of direction, and speed to confuse the defender
- •Defender: react quickly and close down the attacker
