1v1 Competition
A flexible 1v1 drill that can focus on either offensive attacking skills or defensive technique. Attackers start 25 yards from goal while defenders serve the ball in and step out to defend.

Generate a visual setup for this session
Place a cone about 25 yards from the goal. Split the team into 2 teams with alternate jerseys. Place a keeper in goal. The defending team starts near the goal with a large supply of balls. The attacking team starts at the 25-yard cone. The first defender plays a ball into the first attacker and steps out to defend. The attacker attempts to beat the defender. Award a point to the attacking team for each goal scored. After a goal or the defender wins the ball, the next defender plays into the next attacker. Each team attacks for 5 minutes and defends for 5 minutes. Team with highest goal count wins.
- •Offensive: attack with speed; quick explosion to get away; get behind defender; shoot at any half-chance
- •Defensive: close down quickly; force attacker to weak side; approach fast then slow down when near attacker (Fast-Slow-Outside-Low)
