Terms of Business
Zen Footy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
These Terms of Business (“Terms”) govern your use of Zen Footy. Zen Footy is operated by Zengus Ventures Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC824924), registered office 28 Barbieston Road, Dalrymple, Ayr, KA6 6DZ (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using Zen Footy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.
1. Acceptance of terms
By registering for, accessing, or using Zen Footy, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using Zen Footy on behalf of a club or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Eligibility
Zen Footy is a tool for football coaches, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Zen Footy is not intended to be used directly by children. Where you enter information about players who are children, you do so as their coach, and your responsibilities in relation to that data — including obtaining any necessary consent from a parent or guardian — are set out in clause 11 (Data processing).
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at support@zenfootyapp.com.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Zen Footy offers a free tier and the following paid subscription tiers:
- Solo — £9 per month, or £75 per year.
- Pro Coach — £19 per month, or £159 per year.
- Club — £39 per month, or £325 per year.
Solo and Pro Coach subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. The Club tier does not include a trial.
Paid tiers are recurring subscriptions: unless cancelled, they renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) at the then-current price for your plan, and your payment method is charged accordingly.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Trials. Where a free trial applies, your subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends. One free trial is available per user.
Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then, and you will not be charged for the following period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
Price changes. We may change our subscription prices. Where we do, we will give you reasonable notice, and any change will apply from your next billing period. (See clause 5 for the Founding Member price guarantee.)
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we allow a 14-day grace period during which we will attempt to take payment again before your subscription is treated as lapsed.
5. Founding Member offer
From time to time we may offer a “Founding Member” or similar early-access offer to a limited number of coaches (for example, the first 100 to sign up).
Where you take up such an offer, the subscription price you sign up at is locked for as long as your subscription remains continuously active. This price guarantee is personal to you and applies only while your subscription remains active and in good standing.
If your subscription lapses, is cancelled, or is otherwise not continuously maintained (subject to the 14-day grace period for failed payments in clause 4), the price guarantee ends, and any subsequent subscription will be at the then-current price. The number of Founding Member places is limited and offered at our discretion.
6. Free tier
The free tier gives access to a limited set of features. Certain features require a paid subscription. We may adjust the limits and features of the free tier at any time, with reasonable notice where the change is significant.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Zen Footy for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the app or its content, except as permitted by law;
- Circumvent any paywall, subscription, or access control mechanism;
- Share your account credentials with others;
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract content from the service;
- Enter data about any individual without an appropriate lawful basis for doing so (see clause 11);
- Post or upload offensive, unlawful, or inappropriate content.
8. No guarantee of coaching outcomes
Zen Footy is a coaching support tool. It does not guarantee any particular coaching, player-development, team-performance, or match result. Any AI-generated sessions, suggestions, or other outputs are provided to assist you and remain subject to your own professional judgement as a coach.
9. Content and intellectual property
Zen Footy's own software, design, and original content are owned by or licensed to Zengus Ventures Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our written permission.
Your content. You retain ownership of the content you create in Zen Footy (such as your session plans, notes, and squad data). You grant us the licence needed to store, process, and display that content to provide the service to you.
10. Third-party services
Zen Footy relies on third-party service providers to operate, including Supabase (database and hosting), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI features), and Slack (internal support handling). Your data is handled by these providers as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the service is also subject to those providers' terms where applicable.
11. Data processing (controller and processor terms)
This clause sets out the terms on which we process personal data about your players, their parents or guardians, and other contacts that you enter into the service (“Player Data”). It applies in addition to our Privacy Policy.
11.1 Roles of the parties
For Player Data — the information you enter about your players, their parents or guardians, and other contacts — you are the data controller and Zengus Ventures Ltd is the data processor. You decide what Player Data to record and why; we process it only to provide the service to you.
For your own account data (such as your email address, subscription information, and the content you create), we are the data controller, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You confirm that, in respect of the Player Data you enter, you have a valid lawful basis under UK data protection law for doing so — including, where a player is a child, the consent of the child's parent or guardian, or another appropriate lawful basis. You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining that lawful basis.
11.2 Our obligations as your processor
Where we act as your processor, we will:
- (a) Process on your instructions — process Player Data only on your documented instructions, including as set out in these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and as necessary to provide the service, unless required otherwise by law (in which case we will inform you where legally permitted).
- (b) Confidentiality — ensure that people authorised to process Player Data are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- (c) Security — implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect Player Data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage, including access controls that ensure coaches can only access their own data, encrypted connections, and the use of reputable infrastructure providers.
- (d) Sub-processors — you authorise us to engage the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy to help provide the service. We will impose data protection obligations on those sub-processors consistent with these Terms, and we remain responsible to you for their performance. We will keep the list of sub-processors in the Privacy Policy current.
- (e) Assistance with data subject rights — taking into account the nature of the processing, assist you by appropriate technical and organisational measures, insofar as reasonably possible, to respond to requests from individuals exercising their rights under UK data protection law.
- (f) Assistance with your compliance — provide reasonable assistance in ensuring compliance with your obligations regarding security, breach notification, and data protection impact assessments, taking into account the information available to us.
- (g) Breach notification — notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your Player Data.
- (h) Deletion or return — on termination of your account, delete or return Player Data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and retention practices, deleting your Player Data within 30 days of account closure other than records we are required by law to retain.
- (i) Records and audits — make available information reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with these processing obligations, and allow for and contribute to reasonable audits, subject to reasonable notice, confidentiality, and frequency limits.
11.3 Details of the processing
- Subject matter: provision of the Zen Footy coaching platform.
- Duration: for as long as your account is active, and then in line with our retention practices.
- Nature and purpose: storing and processing Player Data so you can manage your squad, record attendance, plan sessions, arrange fixtures and training, and request availability (RSVPs).
- Types of personal data: player names, playing positions and squad numbers; attendance and line-up records; and the names, relationship, phone numbers, and email addresses of parents, guardians, and other contacts.
- Categories of data subject: your players (who may include children) and their parents, guardians, or other contacts.
11.4 International transfers
Where a sub-processor processes Player Data outside the UK, we will ensure an appropriate safeguard for that transfer is in place, as required by UK data protection law.
12. Display of club badges and marks
Where you sign up on behalf of, or in connection with, a football club or organisation, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that club or organisation's name, badge, crest, or logo (“Club Marks”) on the Zen Footy website and in our marketing materials, for the purpose of identifying you or your club as a customer or user of Zen Footy.
This licence is limited to identifying you or your club as a Zen Footy customer. We will not use the Club Marks in a way that suggests any third-party endorsement or affiliation, or in any misleading way.
You confirm that you have the authority to grant this licence in respect of the Club Marks. If you are not so authorised, you must not agree to this clause, and you should contact us so we can disable the relevant display.
You may withdraw this permission at any time by contacting us at support@zenfootyapp.com. On receiving your request, we will remove the Club Marks from the website and from any marketing materials we control within a reasonable period.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Zen Footy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zengus Ventures Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Zen Footy. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
14. Changes to the service and to these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Zen Footy, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; where changes are significant, we will give reasonable notice via the app or by email, and will update the “last updated” date above.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, for any material breach of these Terms. You may close your account at any time. On termination, your right to use Zen Footy ceases, and we will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
